Residential Curbside Organics Recycling Program
For organics recycling service, each resident is provided up to two 96-gallon organics carts for their food scraps & food-soiled paper and green waste such as grass clippings, leaves, weeds and other prunings. To order an additional orgaincs carts (fee applies for carts beyond regular service), please call Waste Management at (760) 439-2824.
All organics collected curbside goes to Oceanside’s El Corazon Compost Facility to be processed and composted. The compost is free to Oceanside residents. By recycling our organics locally, the City minimizes the amount of waste and recyclable material getting transported outside of the City, therefore keeping our solid waste and recycling rates low, and our diversion and recycling rate high. The El Corazon Compost Facility is located at 3210 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside 92056. Bring a shovel and be prepared to self-haul. For hours of operation, please call the facility at (760) 439-9920.
Please help us keep our free compost clean and free of contamination by keeping trash out of the organics recycling bin. No waste, film plastic, pet waste, or dirt in organics carts.
Clear and translucent plastic bags/liners and compostable plastic bags are allowed.
